Trastevere

Even though Courtney and I loved seeing all the famous monuments in Rome, we had the most fun wandering around Trastevere. It's the part of the city across the river, just south of the Vatican. There's cobblestone roads, tons of restaurants with outdoor seating, a beautiful park on the west end and ultimately, it's less crowded.
It's what you picture when you think of Italy and the perfect place to walk around for hours.
We had some of our best meals here, which I'll talk about later (they deserve their own post). It was a long walk from our hostel all the way by the train station to Trastevere, but that didn't stop us from making the trek to this cute neighborhood every day we were there.
This is a part of Rome you absolutely can.not.miss.

  1. Your pictures are beautiful and they definitely reminded me of my trip to Italy way back in 2005! I want to go back there!
